It seems footballers not only have to face their WAGs, Wives and Girlfriends, with their appetite for champagne-fuelled partying, non-stop shopping and spending their money.
They now have to face the NAGs, otherwise known as the mother-in-laws.
So many mother-in-laws are moving in with or next door to their high-living son-in-laws.
England’s captain John Terry is the latest victim, whose future mother-in-law and husband are moving into a house next to the mansion on a private estate in Oxshott, Surrey, in August, where the footballer lives with his beautician fiancée Toni Poole with their twins.
Another victim of the NAGs is England and Chelsea footballer Ashley Cole, married to Girls Aloud singer Cheryl Tweedy, who recently discovered his 46-year-old mother-in-law moving in with the couple.
When David and Victoria Beckham lived in Hertfordshire he was only a few away from his mother-in-law, and even moving to Spain he couldn’t get away, as Victoria’s mum and sister were full-time nannies for their three children Brooklyn, Romeo and Cruz.
