Jamelia, Such a Good Role Model!
Jamelia has accused Nicole Ritchie for being a negative role model for young girls, and doesn’t understand why anyone would want to look like her.
The pop star who presented the MOBOs last night is apalled at how these skinny celebrities are glamourised in the media, and doesn’t understand why anyone would aspire to be stick thin.
Jamelia asks: ‘People like Nicole are hyped as being stylish but they’re emaciated. Why would anyone want to look like that?’
Jamelia also explains how she nearly burst in to tears when her 6 year old daughter Teja, compained about being overweight after watching a TV show on skinny stars.
The singer says: ‘These girls don’t realise the sort of message they’re sending out to kids.’
She adds: ‘You shouldn’t deprive yourself – I have a bit of chocolate cake if I want it. If I didn’t and got knocked down a bus tomorrow, I’d regret it.’
