Jamelia Speaks for the First Time About Her Split from Darren Byfield
Jamelia has said she is staying strong for her kids, despite being heartbroken
The mother of two announced her split from long term partner Darren Byfield last week, the pair have a daughter together, and Jamelia has a daughter from a previous relationship.
Jamelia says: ‘I still love Darren and we will remain the best of friends.
On rumours Darren cheated on her: ‘I absolutely know the rumours about him are not true and they played no part in our break-up.’
Jamelia who is presenting the Mobo Awards tonight along side Shaggy, at the Movida night club in London has said: ‘I’m doing OK. I’m a practical person and I’ve got two children to look after so I’m not going to fall apart.”
She continues: ‘I’m not scared about being a single mum again as I don’t see myself that way.”
Then Jamelia adds: ‘Darren has always played such an active role in the kids’ lives and I’m confident that he always will. He’s a fantastic father.”
Sounds like the couple have ended on good terms, how rare!
